Accommodations & Travel
Lains Barn is nestled in the Oxfordshire countryside, making it a beautiful setting for our wedding. As it's a rural venue, we'd recommend planning your travel in advance, particularly if you'll be drinking. Services such as Uber are very limited in the area and shouldn't be relied upon at the end of the evening.
Driving
There is ample free parking available at Lains Barn for anyone travelling by car.
Taxis
If you won't be driving, we recommend pre-booking a local taxi well in advance. We'd suggest searching for local firms online and arranging both your journey to and from the venue before the day.
Accommodation
We'd recommend booking accommodation as soon as possible, as nearby hotels and inns tend to fill up quickly.
If you're looking for something with more availability, we'd recommend:
Premier Inn Oxford South (Didcot) – approximately 10–15 minutes' drive
Premier Inn Abingdon – approximately 15–20 minutes' drive

FAQs
What time should I arrive?
Please be seated by 1:45pm ready for our 2pm ceremony.
Will the ceremony and reception be at the same venue?
Yes, both our ceremony and reception will be held at Lains Barn, Wantage, so there's no need to travel between venues during the day.
Do I need to bring a gift?
As we've already built our home together, we won't be having a traditional gift list. If you would like to mark the occasion, there will be a card and gift table at the venue.
Are children invited?
Kids are welcome, babysitters are encouraged!
Can I bring a plus one?
If your invitation includes a guest, their name will appear on your invitation and RSVP. We're unfortunately unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those invited.
Can I take photos?
Our lovely photographer has the ceremony covered, as we want you to be fully present. Please do not take phones out during this time. Once we've said "I do", please take as many photos as you'd like throughout the day!
Do I need to RSVP?
Yes please! We'd be so grateful if you could let us know whether you'll be joining us by 31st January 2027 using the RSVP page on this website.
Will there be food and drinks?
Absolutely! We'll be serving canapés after the ceremony, a wedding breakfast and drinks throughout the day. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know when you RSVP.
What if it rains?
This is England after all! Lains Barn is well equipped for all weather, so the day will go ahead whatever the forecast. If the sun shines, we'll make the most of the beautiful grounds; if not, everything can comfortably move indoors.
